Classroom Lab Issue

Service Description

Something is broken or not working in an academic computer lab. Computer laboratories on campus are used for both teaching and general computing needs. Each lab provides a basic software “build” plus extra software specific to an individual department’s needs for teaching classes.

Audience

Both open and department-specific computer labs are available on campus. Students, faculty, and staff with a MultiPass account are automatically granted access to open labs. Departmental labs have a more restricted user list maintained by ITS.

Service Levels

Lab software is updated on a strict schedule before the start of each semester. Software versions are current versions released by the vendor unless there is a demonstrated need for other software compatible with particular lab equipment or software.

Access times vary from lab to lab. Hours are typically posted at the laboratory entrance.

Requirements

Individual user credentials required to access all Windows-based lab computers.

Service Charges

Free to users. Departments may incur costs licensing particular added software in their own labs.

Requesting the Service

Submit a Mines Help Center “Helpdesk” support ticket by using the "Report Issue" button located on this page.

Support can also be requested by visiting the Mines Service Center (Formerly the TSC) or calling x2345 or 303-384-2345 during MSC staffed times. In this case, a Student Consultant will take your information.
